- Melted salted butter, 8 teaspoons
- One big egg
- all-purpose flour, 1 cup
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- a cup of milk
- Baking powder, two teaspoons
- 1 16-ounce bag of cut fresh strawberries
- Chopped pecans and turbinado sugar are optional additions to the 4 oz cream cheese (for extra crunchy topping)
The oven to 350 degrees.
Put butter in a 9 by 13 baking dish once it has melted.
Combine the flour, sugar, and baking powder in a sizable bowl.
Stir an egg. To the flour mixture, add milk and an egg. Together nicely.
Do not mix when you pour the batter over the butter in the baking dish!
Over the batter, arrange the strawberries in a single layer. Place cut side down for the prettiest effect.
Layer cream cheese, which has been cut into little pieces, over the strawberry layer.
An optional step is to top the cobbler with roughly 1/8 cup of turbinado sugar. I adore how this kind of sugar adds added crunch and sweetness to baked items.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the cobbler is beautifully golden brown and has risen up around the strawberries.
Optional step: If you like to add a crunch of pecans to your cobblers as much as I do, you can sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the dessert halfway through baking.
Enjoy!
