Keto Braised Beef Noodle Soup is a substantial, low-carb take on traditional comfort food. We can simmer in a rich, fragrant broth that contains star anise, ginger, garlic, and coconut aminos—a substitute for soy sauce—in tender slices of slow-braised beef. This keto-friendly variation uses spiralized zucchini, Shirataki noodles, or cabbage in place of regular noodles for a filling, guilt-free snack. The soup has a rich flavor because of the lengthy cooking time, which enables the spices to fully develop and the meat to become tender and melt-in-your-mouth. We can garnish each bowl with fresh cilantro and scallions, along with a little sesame oil, which makes this dish tastier. This Keto Braised Beef Noodle Soup provides warmth, depth, and comfort without sacrificing your diet objectives.

- Five spice powder is used carefully because it’s a powerful flavoring that adds warmth with flavors of clove, cinnamon, and star anise.
TAMARI:
- Tamari is a keto-friendly alternative of soy sauce which is also gluten-free that adds depth of umami without adding carbohydrates.
RICE VINAGAR:
- Rice vinegar adds the thick, delicious broth is balanced by the subtle tang.
BEEF BROTH + WATER:
- We use handmade or premium broth; water slightly lightens the foundation for optimal flavor.
STAR ANISE PODS:
- I use the star anise in this but we can remove it before serving to prevent bitterness, as it is essential to the traditional flavor profile.
SHRITAKE NOODLES:
- I use the shitake noodles which are made with the Konjac root and they are zero-carb noodles; rinse and boil for a short while to get rid of the earthy smell.
GREEN ONIONS & CILANTRO:
- We can garnish the soup with green onions which give the soup color, crunch, and brightness.
CHILI OIL & CHILI FLAKES:
- We can adjust the heat to your preferred level of spice.
EGGS:
- A soft-boiled egg adds protein and richness; for added decadence, aim for a gooey yolk.
