EGG:

  • A single egg is needed to combine the ingredients well. While adding the egg, make sure that it is at a normal surrounding temperature.

TOPPING ITEMS:

  • They are not compulsory & depend totally upon your taste. You may sprinkle grated mozzarella/parmesan cheese for a golden, cheesy, & crispy crust.

MOZZARELLA CHEESE:

  • For the perfect results, use mozzarella cheese that is part-skim & has low moisture. This cheese is the key item for the fathead dough.

SALT:

  • It is a very necessary element to enhance the flavor. Add it as per your taste.

CREAM CHEESE:

  • Remember to soften the cream cheese so that it blends well in the dough. In combination with mozzarella cheese, it gives our dough a soft texture & makes it creamy and rich.

OREGANO:

  • Use the dry version of oregano to give the bread a classic herby aroma.

KETO FLOUR:

  • Regular flour is high in carbs, so we have got the almond flour to replace it. Use the flour of skinless almonds to avoid the gritty texture.

POWDERED GARLIC:

  • This powdered garlic will elevate the taste of your bread twists. You can adjust the powdered garlic as per your taste.

BAKING POWDER:

  • It is very necessary to include it as it makes the dough light & airy.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Adjust the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to heat it empty.
  2. Cover the base & sides of the baking sheet with the help of baking paper.
  3. Grab a bowl(microwave-safe) & include mozzarella & cream cheese in that.
  4. Transfer the bowl to the microwave & heat the cheeses till they melt.
  5. Once the cheeses get melted, include herbs, egg, flour of almond, powdered garlic, 7 baking powder.
  6. Now mix them all in the proper way to form the dough.
  7. Once the dough is formed, keep it in the refrigerator to make it easy to handle.
  8. After that, sandwich the dough between the two sheets.
  9. Flatten the dough with the rolling pin into a rectangle with a one-fourth-inch thickness.
  10. Remove the upper layer of parchment.
  11. Hold the pizza cutter/knife(sharp).
  12. Make the strips of the dough by cutting it into slices.
  13. Then pick each strip & twist it one by one.
  14. Place the twisted strips on the baking sheet(parchment-lined).
  15. If you want to go extra crispy, then sprinkle the cheese(grated)on the surface.
  16. Transfer the baking sheet into the oven(already heated).
  17. Give them time to turn golden brown & crispy.
  18. It will take around fifteen mins.

TIPS:

  • Always bake them for around fifteen mins, & don’t worry if it is soft. It will be in its original state once it cools down.

  • If dough becomes difficult for you to handle, then chill it in the fridge for some time. This will make the dough non-sticky for you to handle.

What other flour options will work?

  • You can also go for 1/3 coconut flour to replace it with a cup of almond flour. You need to increase the liquid’s amount while using flour of coconut as it needs more moisture as compare to almond flour.
