  • One small red bell pepper
  • Fresh parsley
  • Two teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

INGREDIENT NOTES:

GARLIC:

  • The meal gets its savory flavor and aroma from the garlic. To give a powerful flavor, use fresh garlic. If needed, you may also use the garlic powder.

CABBAGE:

  • It provides a crisp texture and forms the low-carb basis. Use the romaine to give this salad bulk and fiber, and include the napa cabbage instead as a substitution.

RED BELL PEPPER:

  • These bell peppers give this salad its color and a slightly sweet flavor. Swap it out for yellow pepper with fewer carbs.

OLIVE OIL:

  • This dish is made by including a small amount of olive oil to coat the seasoning. It increases the dish’s amount of healthful fat, which is useful for this diet. Instead, use avocado oil or melted butter.

SHRIMP:

  • This is an easy-to-cook, high-protein, low-carb item that is ideal for sticking to a ketogenic diet. Instead, I use lobster, scallops, and hard white fish like halibut or cod.
