INGREDIENT NOTES
SWEETENER
- The powdered keto sweetener will sweeten our French toast without adding carbs. We are using either monkfruit or erythritol, but you may choose stevia or allulose.
EGGS
- Eggs are the base for the dip of French toast, while they work as a binder in a chaffle to make it fluffy. There is nothing to replace the eggs, but if you are avoiding eggs, you may go for the flax eggs, resulting in a slight change in texture.
WHIPPING CREAM(HEAVY)
- Its addition will give you the creamy richness in coating. You may go for the coconut cream or almond milk, which must be unsweetened, and the recipe will be perfectly fit for vegans.
BUTTER
- Adding butter makes your French toast rich and flavorful with its signature aroma. You may replace it with ghee or even coconut oil for the non-dairy version.
MOZZARELLA CHEESE
- The addition of mozzarella cheese will provide healthy fats and proteins with no carbs. Apart from that, this cheese is also used as a base ingredient for the keto chaffles. You can also give us the Monterey Jack or white cheddar. Mozzarella is much better as it gives a neutral taste without salt.

- Mix to have a smooth mixture ready to dip.
- Keep a non-stick pan over a medium flame with butter in it.
- Dip a chaffle in the French toast dip you just made.
- Carefully coat the chaffle from both sides.
- Immediately transfer them to the pan.

- Similarly, dip and fry another chaffle.

- Your Keto French Toast Chaffle is ready to serve!
TIPS
- Never soak the chaffle in the dip for so long. Otherwise, the chaffles tear, and some pieces are left in the dip due to oversoaking.
- Always pick the low-moisture mozzarella cheese for maximum crispness.
- You can add a little nutmeg or cinnamon powder to the dip for extra flavor.
HOW TO PRESERVE THE LEFTOVERS
CHILLING
- When your chaffles have cooled down, place them in a container secured with an air-tight lid. Refrigerate them for three days.
FREEZING
- Arrange the chaffle in a tray in a single layer. Let them freeze. Transfer them to the freezer bag once they become solid. Freeze them easily for two months.
REHEATING
- Warm up the refrigerated or defrosted French toast using an oven or a toaster to restore its crispness.
FAQs:
Will the almond flour be required for the chaffle making?
- There is no issue if you use a couple of tablespoons of almond flour as the base of a chaffle, but it is not required.
Is this recipe made without a chaffle maker?
- With a slight texture difference, you can cook it like a pancake in a non-stick pan.
How to know if syrup is sugar-free or not?
- Check if the syrup is sweetened with keto sugar, then it is sugar-free.
