  • It adds protein to your dish. You may go for the cooked bits of bacon, Turkey ham, or chicken(diced).

FLOUR OF ALMOND

  • It will be used as a low-carb base for the cake. You may go for the seed flour(sunflower) as a nut-free option.

SEASONINGS

  • We only use the powdered garlic & oregano here to give the classic aroma and depth to our savory cake. You may also go for the powdered onion, Italian seasoning, & smoked paprika to have the variety of deliciousness.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Warm up the oven(empty) at 175 °C & get to work.
  2. Cover the sides and bottom of the baking dish using the sheet of parchment, or you can oil them as well.
  3. Combine the oregano, salt, powder of baking & garlic, along with the flour of coconut & almond in a mixing bowl(big).
  4. Now add the eggs in a separate bowl & beat them till foamy.
  5. After that, include the butter(melted, unsalted)&cream(heavy) and mix until combined.
  6. Now, transfer the liquid mix to the solid mix & fold with gentle hands till you achieve a thick, uniform batter.
  7. Next, add the shredded cheese & diced ham.
  8. Mix till everything is distributed evenly throughout the batter.
  9. Now your batter is ready to bake.
  10. Transfer that batter into the baking dish(oiled/lined) & level the top.
  11. When you observe that your inserted knife comes out without the traces of cake, your cake is done.
  12. Take it out of the oven after almost forty mins & let it rest for ~ten minutes.

TIPS

CHILLING

  • Pack each slice separately using the cling wrap. Keep them all in a container. Freeze for `two months. Warm them directly in an oven at 165 °C.

  • If you work with the raw ham, it will release a lot of water, which results in the moist/soggy bread. That’s why you need to go for the cooked diced ham.

May I go non-dairy with this recipe?

  • You only need to swap the heavy cream with that of coconut cream & use non-dairy alternatives of shredded cheese.

What does the texture of this cake say?
