This Tri-tip steak is taken from the lowermost part of the sirloin & is perfectly marbled and has a perfect beef flavor. This is also very affordable to make for some big gatherings or events. This recipe gives perfectly juicy meat without using the grill. This recipe of Keto Tri Tip Roast is very versatile so you can easily customize this according to your interest. It only requires a few simple components like tri-tip, coffee, spices, & olive oil that are easily available in the grocery store or the pantry. INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ½ pounds tri-tip
  • 1.5 tablespoons crushed coffee
  • One tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • One tsp. chili powder or smoked paprika
  • One tsp. cumin
  • Two tsp. olive oil

INGREDIENT NOTES:

TRI-TIP ROAST:

  • I use without fat tri tip roast to make this recipe because it is easy to make than with untrimmed tri tip. Without trimmed tri tip contains fat which makes it more flavorful. This is available at any grocery store or in the pantry.

GROUND COFFEE:

  • I use crushed coffee to give this roast a earthier flavor.

SPICES:

  • I use some spices like cumin, ginger, pepper, & chili powder with salt to season this tri tip roast to make it more flavorful.

OLIVE OIL:

  • Olive oil is used to roast the tri tip steak.

INSTRUCTION:

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Take a small bowl and add the cumin, black pepper, chili, and garlic powder, with coffee & salt in it, and mix them with the whisk.
  3. We can put the skillet on moderate – high heat & transfer the olive oil in the skillet.
  4. When the oil warms up, add the tri tip in the skillet and sear both sides for four minutes.
  5. Then transfer the cast iron skillet to the oven and bake the steak for 15 minutes or till the internal temperature of the steak reaches 135 degrees F.
  6. When the tri tip is done; take it out and put it in the corner for 5 minutes.
  7. Then slice the Keto Tri-Tip Roast with the knife and serve.

TIPS:

  • We should always use a meat thermometer to ensure that our steak reaches the temperature of 135 degrees F or the desired temperature.
  • You should always heat the skillet before adding the tri tip to achieve a restaurant-style searing on the steak.
  • When you are going to make this steak, put it on the shelf for 30 minutes so it reaches ambient temperature and cooks evenly.
  • When the steak is prepare take the steak out & put it on the shelf for 5 – 10 minutes to maintain its juiciness then slice the steak with the knife.
  • If you want to make it spicy then you can add cayenne pepper to the coffee rub, we can also add some crushed garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper powder, & onion powder to make it more flavorful.
  • You can also make some marinade like teriyaki sauce, or Asian-style marinade and marinate it for 30 minutes to give this roast a tangy taste.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

FRIDGE:

  • When this tri-tip roast comes down at ambient temperature then put the roast in the sealed container and keep them for 3 – 4 days.

FREEZE:

  • When this tri-tip roast gets chilled then put them in the container or zip lock bag and keep them for 6 months.

REHEAT:

  • We should warm up the roast in the skillet on medium heat.
