Keto Raspberry & Brownie Hearts combine two ingredients that seem perfect for each other: a rich chocolate foundation and a vivid berry topping. This dish looks amazing, gives a delicious taste, and works perfectly within a low-carb diet. The brownies are tender and creamy, with enough cocoa flavor to fulfill a chocolate craving without being overly sweet. These raspberry and brownie hearts are ideal for quick meal prep. The raspberry layer provides a crisp contrast with its natural tartness and fresh flavor, keeping the dessert from seeming heavy. We use some ingredients such as chia seeds, butter, almond flour, chocolate chips (unsweetened), eggs, raspberries, and erythritol.  Shaping the brownies into hearts.

INGREDIENT NOTES AND THEIR KETO SUBSTITUTION:

RASPBERRIES:

  • We use raspberries’ natural acidity to regulate the chocolate. Strawberries and blackberries also perform well and are low in carbs.

ERYTHRITOL:

  • It helps to maintain sweetness in low-carb diets. To have a smoother texture, use monk fruit sweetener or allulose. Allulose makes brownies more tender and less dry.

EGGS:

  • It creates structure and keeps the brownie together. Flax eggs are not recommended since they make the texture dense rather than fudgy.

ALMOND FLOUR:

  • It provides brownies with a smooth texture and a slight nut flavor. Coconut flour is not suggested since it dries out the dough and alters its texture.

BUTTER:

  • We use butter to give depth. Coconut oil works as a non-dairy alternative; however, the flavor varies significantly.

CHIA SEEDS:

  • We use these seeds to improve the thickness of the raspberry layer without using flour or starches. You can also use xanthan gum, but just a pinch is required.

CHOCOLATE CHIPS (UNSWEETENED):

  • They improve the chocolate flavor. We can replace chocolate chips (unsweetened) with chopped dark chocolate containing eighty-five percent or more.
