INGREDIENT NOTES:
SOY SAUCE:
- Choose a healthier version with a low amount of sodium. If you are gluten-free, go for tamari. It will also give you the same taste.
GINGER & GARLIC:
- Nothing can match the fragrance & flavor of fresh paste of garlic & ginger made at home by yourself. But if you are in a hurry, it’s alright to use commercial ginger & garlic paste. Read the label with focus that the commercial paste of ginger & garlic must be free from hidden sugars in the form of preservatives.
LETTUCE FOR WRAPS:
- Any type of lettuce will work well, like romaine, iceberg, or butter lettuce. The only difference is that butter lettuce is soft as compared to the other two. Separate the big leaves, wash them, & properly dry them before using.
GROUND CHICKEN:
- This makes our wraps protein-rich. You can swap the chicken with ground turkey, tofu, or vegan crumbles for a vegan version of the dish.
HOISIN SAUCE:
- If you are allergic to gluten, read the label & then buy the version whose label says the sauce is gluten-free. It provides depth & sweetness to your recipe.

TIPS:
- Try to avoid the Romaine lettuce leaves or use them as a last resort. Because, the ribs are too firm & they hinder the wrapping of the leaves.
- To keep them crispy & look perfect for a long time, you need to properly dry the leaves after washing them.
- Use the fatty meat, like chicken with 20 % fat, or turkey meat. Utilize one tbsp. of coconut cream/cream cheese to add the healthy fats.
- Use chili oil or the keto version of sriracha sauce to increase the heat without the carb addition.
- Be alert & focused while buying the keto sauces. They should not contain any hidden sugar.
STORAGE INFORMATION:
FRIDGE:
- Pack the cooked filling in a container(sealed) & transfer it to the refrigerator for four days. It is better to use fresh lettuce leaves & quickly assemble at the time of serving after reheating the filling. you can also refrigerate the leaves after washing & drying them in a separate container.
FREEZER:
- Pack the filling in a similar manner as directed above. Freeze it for around sixty days. Defrost the filling the night before, and reheat using the skillet. Then, use fresh, washed & dried lettuce leaves to quickly assemble & serve.
