INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 lbs. sirloin steak
  • 8 oz. mushrooms
  • 1 small red onion
  • 2 tbsp. oil(olives)
  • One tsp. powdered garlic
  • Onion powder, one teaspoon

  • 1 tbsp. fresh thyme
  • Salt & pepper

MUSHROOMS:

  • You may go for your choice of mushrooms (cremini, white, baby bella, etc.) but we recommend that baby bella mushrooms work best here.

STEAK:

  • We are using the sirloin steak here. If you don’t get the sirloin cut, you may use tenderloin or ribeye also. They will also work here.

FAT:

  • Using butter as a source of fat will make it richer. If you want to go non-dairy dairy then you may use oil of olives here.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. At first, heat your grill to normal-high.
  2. If you are choosing an oven, then warm it up to 220 degrees C.
  3. Grab a bowl(big) for marinating the sirloin cut.
  4. Include mushrooms, cubes of steak, all seasonings, a fat source (oil of olives/butter), & onion.
  5. Mix well to coat the steak properly.
  6. Cut 4 pieces of foil, which should be 12 by 12 inches each.
  7. Divide the steak mixture equally between these four pieces of foil.
  8. Wrap the excess foil to seal the edges properly so that it doesn’t leak.
  9. Bake for around twenty mins if using the oven.
  10. Grill for the same time as baking.
  11. You may need to flip after half the time has passed.
  12. Once your steak is tender enough, stop cooking it.
  13. Open the foil carefully to remove the steam.
  14. Serve Steak & Mushroom Foil Pack as you prefer, either with or without foil.

TIPS:

  • Apply a thin layer of garlic butter, then seal the foil for extra flavor.
  • If you want your steak to be more juicy, then open the foil after five/seven mins.
  • The steak will become less succulent if it is overcooked. Medium level of tenderness is perfect.

  • You can store them either way (either in the foil packs/stored in the locked container) for around three days using the fridge.

FREEZER:

  • You may get the benefit of having the freshly cooked steak if you keep tthe uncooked foil packed steaks in the freezer. Defrost, then cook as you want. You can enjoy them till thirty to forty days.

If I can’t get the sirloin steak, then what is the solution?

  • Yes, if you can’t get the sirloin one, then go for NY strip, tenderloin, or ribeye steak. You may use the beef(ground). When you change the steak cut type, kindly be careful to adjust the cooking time.
