This Keto Ground Beef and Cabbage is a very delicious, tasty, and filling meal. We can easily make this dish as it is a one-pot dish. This ground beef & chopped cabbage has low carbs content as well as nut-free as well. The best quality of this dish is that we can easily make this dish in advance because it can be stored & reheated without any tension of getting spit or alteration of its taste. We can also make this dish dairy-free by skipping the cheese or we can also utilize dairy-free cheese as well. This only contains 5g of net carbs, & 4g of fiber/serving.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 pieces garlic
  • One tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • One teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Half tsp. onion powder
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp. dried thyme
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley

INGREDIENTS NOTES:

BEEF:

  • I use 80% lean meat to make this recipe you can also use 90% lean meat. We can also use turkey or chicken meat to make it light.

CABBAGE:

  • I use medium & green cabbage to make this recipe but you can also use purple cabbage or napa cabbage to change its color and texture.

OLIVE OIL:

  • Oil olive is used to cook the beef and we can also use avocado oil as well.

ONION & GARLIC:

  • I use onions & garlic to make this recipe any type of onions is going great to make this. Freshly crushed garlic should be used to make this dish because it can make it aromatic & more flavorful. We can also use garlic powder to make this but it doesn’t provide the similar taste.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:

  • Apple cider vinegar is used to balance the taste of the dish, we can also use lemon juice, or white vinegar for this purpose. It can give the same results.

SMOKED PAPRIKA:

  • Smoked paprika is utilized to provide the smoky flavor to the dish; you should also utilize some simple paprika.

SPICES:

  • I use onion, garlic, pepper powder, red pepper flakes, & salt to make this dish. You can also alter the quantity according to the likings.

BEEF BROTH:

  • Beef broth is utilized to make this dish; you can also use chicken broth as well.

CHEESE:

  • Cheddar cheese is used to give this dish a cheesy twist but you can also use mozzarella cheese or blue cheese. You can also use cheese that is dairy-free.

FRESH PARSLEY:

  • We can use the fresh parsley to top the beef & cabbage dish.

INSTRUCTION:

  1. First I prepare all the ingredients by chopping the onions, and cabbage, and crushing the garlic.
  2. We can also shred the cheese and put it aside.
  3. I take a skillet & place the skillet on medium flame and pour the olive oil in the skillet.
  4. Warm up the olive oil and include the beef in the skillet.
  5. Saute the beef and cook them for 5 to 7 minutes till it gets nicely brown & cook.
  6. After 5 to 7 minutes put the beef on the transfer the cooked beef in the plate and place it on the shelf.
  7. Put the crushed garlic in the pan and saute them till a nice fragrance comes.
  8. After that transfer the onions in the pan and saute them until the onions get lustrous.
  9. Then add the cabbage to the skillet & saute the cabbage for 5 to 7 minutes.
  10. Add onion & garlic powder, paprika powder, black pepper powder, thyme, & red pepper flakes in the skillet.
  11. Mix them with the spatula.
  12. Then return the cooked beef to the skillet mix everything with the spatula and cook them for more than 3 – 4 minutes so the flavors will get incorporated in each other.
  13. Pour the beef broth & apple cider vinegar into the skillet and boil them for 5 minutes.
  14. Taste the dish and adjust the seasoning.
  15. Add the cheese on top and cook for 1 – 2 minutes till the cheese gets melted.
  16. Then we garnish the dish with freshly chopped parsley.

TIPS:

  • We can add other different kinds of vegetables as well like Brussels sprouts, or cabbage.
  • If you want to make the lighter version of this dish you can also add the ground turkey or chicken as they are leaner then beef.
