INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3 tbsp. taco seasoning
- 6 large eggs
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 pieces of garlic (minced)
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
INGREDIENT NOTES:
GROUND BEEF:
- I use ground beef in the beef taco pie recipe. We could also prepared it with minced pork, turkey, or chicken.
TACO SEASONING:
- I use store-bought seasoning by properly checking its label so that it does not contain any sugar or starch. You can also make it at home by mixing chili powder, cumin, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
EGGS:
- The egg is the backbone of this recipe. It gives structural support as well as cohesiveness and a nice flavor to beef taco pie.
HEAVY CREAM:
- I use heavy cream because of its high fat content which will set the base more quickly. We would replace heavy cream with cream (coconut)
also; it will work in the same way. You can also use whole milk also, but because of its less fat content than heavy cream; it takes a little time to set the base.
SHREDDED CHEESE:
- We would use any kind of cheddar cheese like Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack or sharp cheddar.
GARLIC:
- Fresh crushed garlic enhances the flavor of this beef taco pie.

INSTRUCTION:
COOK THE BEEF:
- Take a skillet (large).
- Add the 1 lb. beef (ground) and put it on the heat (medium).
- Cook it for 7 minutes till get browns and add 3 tbsp. of taco seasoning.
- Mix the seasoning with the beef with the wooden spatula.
TRANSFER TO THE PIE PLATE:
- Take a ceramic pie plate and grease it with the oil.
- Add the seasoned beef to the pie plate and spread it evenly.
ADD THE EGGS:
- Take a bowl (large) and add 6 large eggs, ½ cup heavy cream, and 2 pieces of garlic, ½ tsp. salt, and ¼ tsp. pepper.
- Mix all the ingredients with the whisk till it is incorporated well.
- Transfer the mixture over the beef crust.
INCLUDE THE CHEESE:
- Spread the shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture and bake it for 3o mins.
- When the center is set and the cheese gets a nice brown color it gets done.
- Take out the beef taco pie from the oven and wait for 5 mins.
- When the taco pie cools down a little bit slice it with the knife and serve.
TIPS:
- You can add any topping of your choice like sour cream, chopped tomatoes, salsa, avocado, or guacamole. We can also add fresh cilantro or green onion.
- We can use coconut cream in place of heavy cream or we can also use whole milk as well.
