- Shallow bowl
INGREDIENTS:
- Fourteen ounces of firm tofu
- One tbsp. sesame oil
- One tbsp. tamari
- One tbsp. coconut flour
- Quarter tsp. salt
INGREDIENT NOTES:
TOFU:
- Since firm or extra firm tofu will captivate the maximum taste and maintain its texture when baking, I advise using it.
- Gently squeezing the core of the tofu will typically reveal if it is firm. To us, it’s ideal if it recovers quickly.
SESAME OIL:
- Sesame oil is applied to the tofu cubes for taste and to make the outside crispy.
TAMARI:
- To give the baked tofu its umami taste, tamari is added to the marinade; coconut aminos can also be used.
COCONUT FLOUR:
- The tofu chunks are dredged with coconut flour to give them a crispy exterior.

COOKING METHOD VARIATION:
ON THE STOVETOP:
- Season the tofu and put the skillet on medium-high heat and warm up the skillet then include the tofu in the skillet, much like I do with my pan-fried tofu. Cook till crispy, three to four minutes per side.
IN THE AIR FRYER:
- With a few ingredient changes, it’s nearly the same as the tofu I make in my air fryer. Air fries the tofu at three-seventy-five degrees F for ten to twelve mints, pausing in the middle to shake the basket. Air fries the tofu in the batches if your basket is small to avoid overcrowding.
TIPS:
- Firm tofu, in my experience, tends to retain more moisture, which may keep it from crisping. To absorb as much moisture as possible, I advise slicing the tofu, putting it in a fresh kitchen towel, and pressing it among two heavy plates.
- To prevent the tofu from becoming soggy, throw away any marinade that hasn’t been captivated by the tofu before baking.
- The tofu will not become crusty on all sides if the baking sheet is overcrowded.
- Switch up the sauce. Use keto-friendly tofu marinade, barbecue sauce, or teriyaki sauce instead of the Asian marinade.
- The ideal amount of marinade is soaked in the tofu. We can marinade the tofu overnight to enhance its taste.
STORAGE INFORMATION:
FRIDGE:
- You may keep the remaining baked tofu for up to three or four days if you put it in a sealed container.
FREEZE:
- Put the remaining baked tofu in the sealed box and stock it for around six months.
- Before reheating, let it defrost overnight in the refrigerator.
REHEAT:
- Baked tofu may be reheated in the air fryer at three-fifty degrees F for three to four minutes, in the microwave at thirty-second intervals in an oven set to three-twenty-five degrees F for eight to ten minutes.
FAQs:
How come my tofu doesn’t crisp up in the oven?
- Your tofu won’t crisp up in the oven if it has too much moisture. The tofu will steam during cooking and not crisp up if it has too much moisture.
- Pressing away the extra moisture utilizing paper towels and a heavy plate or chopping board is the easiest approach to avoid this.
Can we store this baked crispy tofu?
- Put the crispy and baked tofu in the sealed container and stock it up for three to four days in the fridge or for six months in the freezer.
