Keto Lemon Pepper Seasoning

Keto Lemon Pepper Seasoning is an easy-to-make and versatile spice mix. It gives every food (chicken, beef, vegetables, or seafood) a delicious tangy, and spicy taste. The seasoning is also easy to store & doesn’t need the fridge/freezer to keep it fresh. If you protect the seasoning from moisture, it will stay fresh for 2 years. For the best results, always reseal it after use & try to consume it within a year. Keto Lemon pepper Seasoning only contains 0.3 g of net carbs in a serving. It may contain harmful chemicals (preservatives & additives) if you use the commercial one. That’s the reason we always prefer the homemade version.

EQUIPMENT:

  • A bowl for mixing

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 tablespoon of powdered onion
  • One-fourth cup lemon peel (dried)
  • Powdered garlic, 1/2 tbsp
  • One and a half tablespoons of powdered peppercorn
  • Half tbsp of thyme (dried)
  • Salt, 1 tbsp

INGREDIENT NOTES:

HERBS:
The recipe uses thyme (dried) in our seasoning. You may use any other herbs (dried) like parsley or oregano.

PEEL OF LEMON:
Use powder of lemon peel (dried) to have that authentic lemon flavor. If you can’t find any then dry the lemon peel & make its powder. Homemade will be best.

SPICES:
Use salt, powdered garlic, black pepper powder, and powdered onion.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Grate the peel of lemon.
  2. Leave it covered under the sun till all the moisture evaporates.
  3. Now place a medium-sized bowl on a working bench.
  4. Include all the items that we have mentioned in the list.
  5. Mix them well.
  6. Pick a glass jar that you can seal properly.
  7. Transfer the seasoning to that jar.
  8. Your lemon-pepper seasoning is ready!

TIPS:

We recommend you use 1 tbsp of seasoning/pound for veggies, 2 tablespoons/pound of chicken, and 1.5 tbsp/lb of seafood.
If you want to up or down the amount of seasoning, it will also disturb the quantity of salt.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

Pack the prepared seasoning in a resealable jar.
You don’t need the fridge or freezer to store it. You only have to save the lemon & pepper seasoning from absorbing moisture.
It can be safe in a cool & dry place for 2 or 2.5 years. If you want to have a fresh taste use it in a year.

FAQs:

Do we use fresh lemon peel?
Grate the peel of the lemon and spread it in a layer (thin) on the sheet of baking. At the lowest temperature possible, dry it out in the oven. It should take an hour or so. This is a quick process.
If you have time then you may dry it on your table.

How to use the seasonings?
You are free to use the seasoning to give any dish the lemon & pepper flavoring. We use it to make chicken, seafood, salads & soup, veggies (roasted), and marinades.

Can we make the lemon pepper seasoning without salt?
It is easy to up & down the amount of seasoning without disturbing the amount of salt.
