This Keto Sweet Chili Salmon is very tasty & delicious and is filled with a combination of sweet & spicy flavors. This salmon gets ready very quickly & requires only ten minutes to make this dish from prep time to serve. We can easily make this dish in advance and store it in individual containers with rice or broccoli for meal prep. You can easily alter the spices and adjust them according to your liking and make them less spicy or extra spicy. INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup keto-friendly sweet chili sauce

SALMON:

  • We can make this recipe with both skin on and off but I prefer to make it with skin because it is easy to sear with skin side.

OLIVE OIL:

  • Olive oil is used to sauté the salmon.

LIME JUICE:

  • Lime juice is used to make its marinade, we can use either fresh or bottle of lime juice or we can also utilize lemon juice.

SWEET CHILI SAUCE:

  • We should utilize keto-friendly sweet chili sauce that is sweetened with keto sweeteners like swerve or monk fruit. Try to read the label always to make sure it is keto-friendly.

PEPPER POWDER & SALT:

  • Salt & black pepper powder is included in the recipe to season the fish according to the taste.

INSTRUCTION:

  1. Take a small bowl and add the salt, lime juice, black pepper powder, & olive oil and mix them well till they get combined with the whisk.
  2. Include the fillets of salmon and immerse it to coat each side of the fillet.
  3. Take a large skillet and pour the remaining olive oil in it and put the skillet on medium heat.
  4. When the skillet gets hot then put the fillets skin facing down in the frying pan.
  5. Sear the fillet for five minutes from one side then flip the side.
  6. Then sear the fillet for more than five minutes.
  7. When it is done then place the pan on the counter for 1 minute.
  8. Then shower the sweet chili sauce over the salmon fillets & serve.

SERVING IDEAS:

  • Keto sweet chili salmon goes great with garlic flavor cauliflower rice, or cilantro lime cauliflower rice.
  • Roasted Asparagus & Brussels sprouts also greatly pair with this sweet & spicy salmon.
  • We can also have this sweet chili salmon with spinach & avocado salad, cucumber & feta salad, and arugula & radish salad.

TIPS:

  • Include the sauce over the fillet when it is ready to eat; do not include the sauce during cooking as it may get burned and too caramelized.
  • The pan should be properly warmed up before adding the salmon. You can check if the pan is warmed up or not by drizzling some water drops on the pan if it shimmers and evaporates quickly then it is ready to add the salmon.
  • We should cook the salmon till it reaches 140 to 145 degrees F. We can check this with a meat thermometer. If it is not available then no problem you can see flaky fish when it is ready to eat.
  • If you like spicy food and you can tolerate the spiciness then we can also add a pinch of Sriracha, red chili flakes, harissa, & sambal in the sweet chili sauce to make it spicier.
  • When the fish is ready then garnish the fish with scallions, cilantro, or sesame seeds.

STORAGE INFORMATION:

FRIDGE:

  • Place the leftover salmon in the close box & keep them for like 3 days.

FREEZER:

  • We can put the salmon fillets in a sealed bag & store the fish for three months.

  • We can easily broil the salmon in the way that first soak the salmon fillets from both sides in the marinade then put the fillets in the skin side down on the sheet and bake them for five to six minutes or till they get flaky with the fork.
