Keto Coddled Egg

Keto Coddled Egg is also known as eggs en cocotte. It is a full-of-nutrition breakfast & contains healthy fats and proteins. You may add seasonings of your choice. It is a quick and simple recipe that gets ready in no time. So, you can have it on your busy mornings. These eggs have soft & solid whites(not hard) & runny yolk. We make coddled eggs in the steam of boiling water using the coddled pan. Keto Coddled Eggs only have 0.3 g of net carbs with 72 kcal in a serving.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Grated cheddar cheese, 6 tbsp.
  • Six eggs, large.
  • 3/8th teaspoon of pepper powder (black)
  • Six tsp of chopped chives (fresh)
  • A three-fourth teaspoon of salt.

INGREDIENT NOTES:

CHEESE:
You may use any of the shredded or crumbled cheeses. We are using cheddar shredded cheese here.

EGGS:
You may use the size that you wish. It takes more time for large eggs and vice versa. If you want liquid egg yolks so you have use chill eggs. Your eggs should not be at the surrounding temperature.

HERBS:
They are not compulsory or mandatory. Use any herb of your choice to give a different kick of flavor.

SEASONING:
It is not compulsory to stick to black pepper powder & salt. You may use the seasonings of your choice like garlic powder, etc.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Grab the base part of the coddler pan and fill it with water that should be enough to dip the egg cups.
  2. Place it on the full flame and wait for the boil to come.
  3. Lower the flame to normal once the boil starts.
  4. At this point, coat the sides and base of each cup of egg with oil.
  5. Now place the lid holding the egg cups on the boiling water.
  6. Break an egg into every coddler cup.
  7. Include a powder of peppercorns & salt.
  8. Sprinkle chives & grated cheese.
  9. Wait till egg whites become solid and the yolk remains liquid.
  10. If you want a solid yolk then wait for some more time.
  11. Switch the stove off.
  12. Pick up each of the cups wearing hand gloves.
  13. Separate the eggs from the sides.
  14. Transfer them to the serving plate.

TIPS:

  1. Be careful to give the time according to the size of the eggs to cook. The larger the egg, the longer the time it takes to cook.
  2. All your eggs in a single coddler must be of the same size. Otherwise, some yolks will be hard till we wait for the large egg whites to become cooked.

SUGGESTIONS FOR VARIETY:

Add veggies:
You may include roasted/sauteed veggies of your choice.

Cajun flavor:
Sprinkle with a couple of teaspoons of cajun seasoning. You will have the perfect cajun-flavored eggs with a spicy kick.

Mexican:
Spread some of the salsa verde over the eggs to have a Mexican coddled egg.

Italian coddled eggs:
Trade chives with the Italian seasoning to have the Italian coddled eggs.

Meat addition:
Include a handful of small pieces of meat of your choice to make it more full of proteins.

Garlic parmesan:
Combine Italian seasoning, minced & sauteed garlic, and grated parmesan cheese. Add this mix over the egg to have the classic flavor of garlic and parmesan.

STORAGE DIRECTIONS:

If you have remaining eggs in the locked vessel, place them in the locked vessel. Use under 3 days.
Freezing is not recommended because it will destroy the appearance and nutritional facts.
