Although they make a delicious dessert, traditional French madeleine cookies are not keto friendly. Without gluten or having a lot of carbs, we’ve developed the best keto madeleines that maintain all of the characteristics of the classic madeleine cookies. This Keto Madeleines recipe uses a madeleine pan mould that yields gorgeous scalloped shell forms while maintaining the same buttery foundation flavor of madeleine butter cakes. Simple, spongy tea cakes with a faint cookie-like appearance are keto madeleine cookies. They’re simple to make, and we improve the consistency of this simple madeleine cookie recipe by combining almond and coconut flour. The sugar-free chocolate dip enhances the flavor of the vanilla-based keto cake batter!

The variety of toppings on these gluten-free madeleines is one of our favorites features.

The fact that these keto French cookies are sugar and gluten free is their best feature.

MADELEINE COOKIES: WHAT ARE THEY?

French butter cakes, often known as madeleine cookies, are delicate, soft cakes cooked into a distinctive scalloped shell shape. Madeleine cookies date back to the late 1700s and are a native of the Liverdun and Commercy region of France. These magnificent tea cakes, which are typically served with tea or coffee, are produced with basic materials. Variations include lemon or lime zest, honey, and even maple syrup. Using a scalloped madeleine cookie mould, we maintain the conventional method for making keto madeleine cakes, but we use almond flour to create gluten-free madeleine cookies.

A COOKIE OR A CAKE, ARE MADELEINES?

Simple: both of them! Soft baked items with a cake-like interior and a crunchy crust are known as French madeleine cookies. Although they have a spongy, cake-like feel, most recipes refer to them as cookies. These cake cookies are our favorite since they give us the impression of regency duchesses.

IS A MADELEINE COOKIE MOLD REQUIRED?

Most notable about madeleine cookies is their shell-like shape. They have distinctive ridges and lines that form scallops. Although we stuck to tradition and utilized a madeleine baking pan for our keto madeleine cookie recipe, you can use any mould or pan of your choice!

DO MADELEINE COOKIES CONTAIN GLUTEN?

The majority of authentic French madeleine cookies are made with all-purpose flour, which contains gluten.

WHAT ARE SOME TOPPINGS FOR MADELEINE COOKIES?

Even while madeleine keto cookies are fantastic on their own, they are the ideal cookie to dress up with toppings. Once all of your madeleine cookies have been covered in chocolate, arrange them on a baking sheet and chill them for 30 minutes. Do you wish to proceed further? Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle over coconut flakes, freeze-dried raspberries, or almonds. When your keto madeleines are still warm from the oven, if you’re looking for a quick garnish, sprinkle some powdered monk fruit sweetener on top.
