INGREDIENTS:

  • Sundried tomatoes, 2 pieces

  • One-eighth teaspoon of powdered peppercorn.
  • 1 tablespoon oil of olives
  • Sea salt, 1/4 tsp
  • Half a tablespoon of basil (fresh)
  • Dried oregano, 1/2 tsp.
  • Four medium-sized olives (black)

INGREDIENT NOTES:

SAUCE:
You have various options that go well with this keto pizza. We use tomato sauce in this recipe but you have the choice to use keto marinara sauce, keto pizza sauce, or passata.

PEPPERONI:
You may use pepperoni as the topping if you are a fan. Otherwise, you may choose your favorite toppings. We will mention the idea of topping in a separate heading.

MUSHROOMS:
The recipe uses portobello mushrooms here. Try to choose the large ones that have space in the cap to hold the toppings.

CHEESE:
We are using mozzarella cheese here. Use fresh mozzarella by shredding it. You have the option to use the already-shredded one that is available in the market.

OIL:
Apply oil to cover the dish. You may use the spray of oil to have a thin coating.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat the oven to 400 F.
  2. Pick a (shallow) tray from the oven & cover it with baking paper.
  3. Wash the mushrooms well & then dry them using the kitchen towel.
  4. Remove the stems & gill.
  5. Now apply oil with the brush on the whole mushroom surface.
  6. Season it with Powdered black pepper & sea salt.
  7. Place in the baking tray.
  8. Bake them until the crust is tender.
  9. Now, start assembling the pizza toppings.
  10. Pour a tablespoon of passata/any red sauce that you wish to have here.
  11. Now, add a little shredded mozzarella over the red sauce on each crust.
  12. Dust with oregano (dried) & flakes of red pepper.
  13. Pick the olives (black) & slice them.
  14. Arrange the slice of olives.
  15. Place the sundried tomato in the center of each crust.
  16. Re-insert it into the oven.
  17. Bake till the cheese melts.
  18. Garnish with chopped basil(fresh).

The choice is too different for each person. You can try the following toppings to have your customized keto pizza.

BBQ CHICKEN:
You may use shredded BBQ chicken with some onions & cilantro.

The people who love meat may add their own choice of meat. It may be ham, sausage (Italian), beef, etc.

WHITE PIZZA:
To have the white pizza you may swap the red sauce with the alfredo sauce. Add spinach, and onion for the perfect combo.

VEGGIES:
Use only veggies as the topping if you don’t like the meat. Try any one or make a combo of broccoli, bell peppers, artichokes, onions, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, or black olives.

MARGHERITA:
Keep your pizza simple & light with only cheese, sauce, and basil (fresh).

TIPS:

  • Spread the decided amount of sauce in the center. It will automatically spread while cooking.
  • Try to avoid the mushrooms with a flat cap. As the cap with space may hold your filling in a better way.
  • Mushrooms already have lots of water so use the sauce which have the least amount of water.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Use the fridge to store any extra mushroom cap pizza for 3 or 4 days.
Freezing the recipe of mushrooms doesn’t provide us with the best results. So, we don’t consider the freezing of this recipe.

Bake in the oven for 350 F to warm up when you have to eat the pizza from the fridge.

Yes, you may assemble the keto pizza. Wrap the tray of baking having assembled pizza with the cling wrap or plastic sheets. Use the fridge to store them. Bake when you need to eat/serve them.

Do we have to stick with the tomato sauce?
You can avail the options & use which one you like the most. You may add passata, keto marinara sauce, keto pizza sauce, etc. Try whichever sauce you are using, it should be dry & 100% moisture-free
